Is Swappr Safe and Legit? Who Makes It, Who Holds Your Coins, and What It Costs (2026)

Is Swappr safe and legit?

Swappr is a real Android app from GSPTeck, giosaia's indie studio. It is listed on Google Play as "Swappr: Crypto Coin Swap" (package com.gspteck.swappr), and swaps run through FixedFloat, a non-custodial exchange service operating since 2018. It's safe in the sense that it never asks for your seed phrase and never stores a balance for you. It isn't risk-free: while an order runs, your coins sit at a FixedFloat deposit address, and FixedFloat can pause orders for checks. This page explains both sides.

We publish Swappr, so this is a first-party answer. Every factual point below links to a public source you can check yourself, including the parts that don't flatter the app.

Who makes Swappr?

Swappr is made by GSPTeck, and the swaps are processed by FixedFloat. Those are the only two parties involved.

The Play listing shows the developer as GSPTeck, the category as Finance, a PEGI 3 rating and "Contains ads". Swappr is currently available only for Android on Google Play, so any "Swappr" on the App Store isn't ours.

Who holds your coins during a swap?

You hold them until you send them to the order's deposit address. FixedFloat holds them from then until it sends the new coin to the address you entered.

  1. In your wallet. You pick a pair in Swappr and paste your receiving address. Nothing has moved yet.
  2. Deposit address. You send the coin from your own wallet to the deposit address FixedFloat creates for that order.
  3. Processing. FixedFloat converts the coin at the fixed or float rate you chose.
  4. Your address. The new coin goes to the receiving address you entered. Swappr never had custody at any step.

FixedFloat's terms describe it as non-custodial with no stored user balances. The same terms let it refuse service and suspend an order for anti-money-laundering or source-of-funds checks. In that case, refunds go only to the original sending address. Complaint threads about these holds exist online, and you should know that before sending a large amount. When a FixedFloat swap is paused for KYC or AML explains what happens and what to do. If you send from an exchange account, read the risks of sending a swap deposit from an exchange first, because a refund to an exchange deposit address can be hard to recover.

What does Swappr cost?

The app is free to install and shows ads. The swap itself costs FixedFloat's service fee plus the network fee, and the app shows the amount before you confirm.

ItemWhat it is
AppFree, with ads
Fixed-rate swap1% plus network fee per FixedFloat's FAQ; the rate is held for 10 minutes
Float-rate swap0.5% plus network fee per FixedFloat's FAQ; the final amount follows the market

Always compare the final amount on the confirm screen, not the headline rate. Fixed vs float rate explains which to choose, and why you received less than the quote covers the usual gaps.

What data does Swappr collect?

According to its Google Play Data safety section, Swappr collects no data but may share device or other IDs for app functionality and advertising. The ads are what share device IDs.

The same section also says "Data isn't encrypted" and "Your data isn't transferred over a secure connection." We are quoting that because it is on the listing and you should see it. A normal swap needs no exchange account: FixedFloat's terms say you don't have to register or give personal data to make an exchange. What you enter is a coin pair and a public receiving address, and the transaction itself is public on the blockchain. The privacy policy is at gspteck.com/policy, and deletion requests go through gspteck.com/delete-account.

What can go wrong, and how to avoid it

Most failed swaps come from user-side mistakes that can't be undone on the blockchain, not from the app.

How to do a safe first swap

Start small. A test swap costs a little in fees but shows you the whole flow before real money is involved.

  1. Install from Google Play and check that the developer is GSPTeck.
  2. Pick a pair you already hold in a wallet you control, not on an exchange account.
  3. Choose fixed rate if you want to know the exact amount you will receive, and make sure you can send within 10 minutes.
  4. Paste your receiving address, then compare its first and last characters with your wallet.
  5. Send a small amount, above the minimum shown, on the exact network the order names.
  6. Watch it arrive in your wallet before you try a larger swap.

If the order is delayed, keep the order ID and your transaction hash; both are needed if you contact FixedFloat support. If you're still deciding between a swap app, an exchange and a DEX, instant swap vs exchange vs DEX compares them.

Swappr in one line

Swappr is a free, ad-supported Android front end for FixedFloat swaps. It never holds your coins, never asks for your seed phrase and never promises returns, and FixedFloat's own fees and rules apply to every order. If that suits you, the app is on Google Play and the overview is on the Swappr homepage.

FAQ

Is Swappr a scam?

No. It is a published Android app from GSPTeck that sends swaps to FixedFloat. It doesn't ask for deposits into the app, seed phrases or accounts. Anyone in DMs offering "Swappr support" is not us.

Does Swappr hold my crypto?

No. During an order the coins are at FixedFloat's deposit address until FixedFloat sends the new coin to your address. Swappr stores no balance.

Can a Swappr swap be frozen?

FixedFloat can suspend an order for AML or source-of-funds checks. Its terms say refunds then go to the original sending address.

Is Swappr on iPhone?

Not at the moment. Swappr is currently available for Android on Google Play.
