How to Swap Bitcoin (BTC) to USDT on TRON (TRC20) on Android: Steps, Fees and Checks (2026)
How do you swap Bitcoin to USDT on TRON (TRC20) on Android?
In Swappr, set Bitcoin as the coin you have and USDT on the TRON network (TRC20) as the coin you want. Enter a BTC amount between the minimum and maximum shown, paste a TRON address that starts with T, and tap "Swap now". Then send the exact BTC amount from your own Bitcoin wallet to the deposit address. FixedFloat processes the swap and sends USDT to your TRON address once your Bitcoin deposit is confirmed. Most mistakes on this pair happen on the receiving side: choosing the wrong USDT network, pasting the wrong kind of address, or not realising that moving TRC20 USDT later needs TRX for fees. This guide walks through the steps, the fees and those receiving-side checks.
Educational walkthrough, not financial advice. Rates, limits and network fees change. The numbers in the app when you confirm are the ones that apply.
What you need before you start
| Item | Why | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| BTC in a wallet you control | You send the deposit yourself and choose the fee | Your wallet shows the network fee before you send |
| A bit of extra BTC | The Bitcoin network fee is paid on top of the swap amount | Your balance covers the amount plus the fee |
| A TRON receiving address | Where the USDT is sent | 34 characters, starting with a capital T |
| A wallet that shows TRC20 tokens | So you can see and later move the USDT | It lists TRON and USDT (TRC20) |
| Swappr from Google Play | The app that creates the order | Developer shown as GSPTeck on the listing |
TRON's developer documentation describes the format: in Base58Check form, a TRON address is 34 characters and starts with T. A Bitcoin address (bc1…, 1… or 3…) or an Ethereum-style 0x address is the wrong kind for this pair. No memo is needed for TRC20 USDT.
The swap, step by step
- Pick the pair. Set the coin you have to Bitcoin. For the coin you want, choose USDT and check that the network label says TRON or TRC20, not BEP20, ERC20 or another chain. The pair's minimum and maximum appear straight away.
- Enter the amount and choose the rate. Type the BTC amount and read the estimated USDT. Fixed Rate locks the quoted amount. Float Rate follows the market until your deposit is confirmed.
- Paste your TRON address. Copy it from your wallet's receive screen for USDT on TRON. Compare the first and last four characters after pasting.
- Tap "Swap now" and send the BTC. The deposit screen shows the exact BTC amount and a Bitcoin deposit address with a QR code, powered by FixedFloat. Send that exact amount from your wallet in one transaction with a normal fee, then tap "Sent".
- Wait for the confirmation and the payout. FixedFloat runs the exchange once your Bitcoin deposit has the confirmations it requires. It then sends USDT to your T address. Keep the order ID and your Bitcoin TXID.
Fees on a BTC to USDT (TRC20) swap
| Cost | Who sets it | Fixed rate | Float rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| FixedFloat service fee | FixedFloat (published in its FAQ) | 1% | 0.5% |
| Network fee for the USDT payout | TRON network | Plus network fee | Plus network fee |
| Bitcoin fee to send your deposit | You, in your wallet | Paid separately | Paid separately |
Swappr is free to download and contains ads. The estimated USDT the app shows before you confirm is what the order quotes. The Bitcoin fee you pay when sending is extra, and it depends on how busy the network is. You can see current fee levels on a public explorer such as mempool.space before you send.
Fixed rate and Bitcoin timing
On a fixed-rate order, FixedFloat freezes the rate for 10 minutes. Within that window your transaction has to appear on the network. It doesn't have to confirm. FixedFloat says that if the market moves more than 1.2% before your transaction appears, or the amount doesn't match, you'll be offered a refund or the market rate. In practice:
- Have your wallet open before you tap "Swap now", so you can send within a minute or two.
- Avoid the lowest fee. Your quote is safe once the transaction appears, but the USDT payout waits for confirmation. A very low fee rate can leave it unconfirmed for hours when blocks are full.
- Send the exact amount in one transaction. Some wallets subtract the fee from the amount you type. Check that the amount that arrives matches the order.
The Bitcoin side works the same as on our Bitcoin to Ethereum walkthrough, which covers the 10-minute window in more detail. If you're still choosing a rate type, read fixed versus float rates first.
The receiving side: what's different on TRON
Receiving USDT on TRON costs you nothing. The sender, here FixedFloat's payout, pays the TRON network fee. The cost shows up later, when you want to move that USDT. TRON charges transactions in bandwidth and energy, and a TRC20 transfer usually needs some TRX in the sending address to cover them. If your TRON address has only USDT and no TRX, the USDT is safe but you can't send it anywhere until you add TRX.
- Plan for TRX. If you'll move the USDT on soon, make sure the address holds or can receive a small amount of TRX.
- Network labels matter. USDT exists on several chains. Our comparison of USDT on TRC20, BEP20 and ERC20 explains why you can't mix them up.
- Exchange deposit addresses. If you send USDT to an exchange account, check that the exchange accepts USDT on TRON for that address. Some exchanges show different addresses per network.
- Want to reverse it later? The opposite direction is covered in how to swap USDT TRC20 to Bitcoin on Android.
Mistakes that cost a BTC to USDT swap
- Picking USDT on the wrong network. A T address only belongs with USDT on TRON, so check the network label every time before you tap "Swap now".
- Sending BTC from an exchange account. Exchange withdrawals can be delayed past the 10-minute window, and the amount that arrives may differ.
- Pasting an address you haven't checked. Clipboard malware replaces copied addresses. Compare the first and last characters.
- Contacting support too early. Look up your Bitcoin TXID first. A deposit with zero confirmations is normal for the first minutes.
Swappr in one line
Swappr is a free Android app by GSPTeck (our app) for multi-coin swaps processed by FixedFloat. Each coin is labelled with its network, the minimum, maximum and estimated amount appear before you confirm, and the deposit screen has a QR code. Its limits: it's Android-only, it contains ads, it's not a wallet, and you need your own wallet for both sides. Get Swappr on Google Play.
FAQ
Do I need TRX to receive USDT on TRON?
No. The sender pays the network fee when USDT is sent to you. You need TRX later, to pay bandwidth and energy when you move that USDT from your address.
What does a TRON address look like?
In the usual Base58Check form, it's 34 characters and starts with a capital T. TRON's developer documentation describes this format.
How long does a BTC to USDT swap take?
Most of the time goes into Bitcoin confirmations, which depend on the fee you chose and how busy the network is. Once the deposit is confirmed, the TRON payout is usually quick.
Is Swappr a wallet?
No. Swappr creates the swap order. You send BTC from your own wallet and receive USDT to your own TRON address.
