How to Swap SOL to USDT (Solana) on Android: Steps, Fees and Mistakes to Avoid (2026)
How do you swap Solana (SOL) to USDT on an Android phone?
In Swappr you pick SOL as the coin you have and USDT on the Solana network as the coin you want, enter an amount within the minimum and maximum shown, and paste your own Solana wallet address as the receiving address. Then tap "Swap now" and send the exact SOL amount to the deposit address. FixedFloat processes the swap and sends USDT to your Solana address once the deposit is confirmed. You don't need an exchange account. Leave a little SOL in your wallet afterwards, because moving USDT on Solana later costs a small fee paid in SOL.
Educational walkthrough, not financial advice. Rates, limits and network fees change, and the numbers shown in the app when you confirm are the ones that apply.
Swappr in one line, and what this flow uses
Swappr is a free Android app by GSPTeck (our app) for multi-coin swaps processed by FixedFloat. For a SOL to USDT swap it gives you:
- Each coin labelled with its network, so you can tell USDT on Solana apart from USDT on TRON, Ethereum or BNB Chain.
- The pair's minimum and maximum and an estimate of the USDT you'll receive, all before you create the order.
- A choice of Fixed Rate or Float Rate.
- A deposit screen with a QR code and copy buttons, marked "powered by FixedFloat".
Honest limits: Swappr is Android-only, contains ads, and is a swap tool, not a wallet. You need your own Solana wallet. Pairs depend on what FixedFloat supports at the time; FixedFloat lists USDT on Solana among its supported USDT networks. Get the app from the Google Play link on the Swappr homepage.
Before you start: what you need
| Item | Why | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| SOL in your own wallet | The coin you are swapping | Your wallet shows a SOL balance on Solana mainnet |
| A Solana receiving address | Where the USDT is sent | A base58 string, usually 32 to 44 characters, with no 0x at the start |
| Some SOL left over | Every Solana transaction pays a fee in SOL, including future USDT transfers | Don't swap your whole balance |
| The real USDT mint | To confirm the token that arrives is Tether's USDT | Tether lists the Solana mint as Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB |
| Swappr from Google Play | The app that creates the order | Developer shown as GSPTeck on the listing |
On Solana, one wallet address receives both SOL and tokens such as USDT. Behind the scenes, each token sits in a separate token account linked to your address. Most wallets set this up for you, and the first one costs a small SOL deposit, about 0.002 SOL. If USDT doesn't show in your wallet after the payout, check that the wallet has added the USDT token. If the payout itself seems slow, see how long a crypto swap takes by network.
The swap, step by step
- Pick the pair. Set the coin you have to SOL and the coin you want to USDT on the Solana network. Read the network label carefully: USDT on TRON or Ethereum would need a different address.
- Enter the amount and choose the rate. Type the SOL amount, stay inside the minimum and maximum, and read the estimated USDT. Choose Fixed Rate to lock the quoted amount, or Float Rate to let it follow the market until the swap runs.
- Paste your Solana address. Copy it from your wallet's Receive screen, then compare the first and last four characters with what you pasted. Clipboard malware can swap a copied address for a lookalike.
- Tap "Swap now" and send. The deposit screen shows the exact SOL amount and a deposit address with a QR code. Send that exact amount from your Solana wallet, then tap "Sent".
- Wait for the payout. FixedFloat runs the exchange once your deposit gets the required confirmations, then sends USDT to your address. Keep the order ID and your deposit transaction signature.
Fixed or float for SOL to USDT?
FixedFloat publishes the rules for both rate types in its FAQ:
| Fixed rate | Float rate | |
|---|---|---|
| FixedFloat fee | 1% plus network fee | 0.5% plus network fee |
| When the rate is set | When you create the order | After your deposit is confirmed |
| Time to send | Rate frozen for 10 minutes; send within that window | No frozen window |
| Deposit amount | Must match the order exactly | Follows what arrives |
| Good for | Knowing the USDT amount in advance | A lower fee if you accept market movement |
On a fixed-rate order, FixedFloat says that if the market moves more than 1.2% before your transaction appears on the network, or the amount doesn't match, you'll be offered a refund or the market rate. SOL can move quickly, so fixed is the calmer choice if you need a known USDT amount. Our fixed versus float rate guide covers the trade-off.
What it costs on Solana
Three costs make up the difference between the SOL you send and the USDT you get.
- FixedFloat's fee: 1% on fixed or 0.5% on float, already reflected in the estimate.
- Your sending fee: Solana's base fee is 5,000 lamports (0.000005 SOL) per signature, plus any optional priority fee your wallet adds.
- The payout network fee: charged on the USDT side and included in the quote.
If the amount you receive is lower than you expected, compare it with the estimate you saw before you tapped "Swap now". On a float-rate order, a lower amount usually means the market moved before your deposit confirmed.
Six mistakes that cost a SOL to USDT swap
- Picking USDT on the wrong network. A Solana address can't receive USDT sent on TRON or Ethereum. Choose the Solana network.
- Swapping every last SOL. With no SOL left, you can't pay the fee to move your new USDT.
- Pasting an exchange deposit address. Exchange deposits can be delayed or credited differently. Use your own wallet.
- Sending late on a fixed rate. After 10 minutes the frozen rate lapses and you're offered a refund or the market rate.
- The wrong amount. If it's below the minimum, or doesn't match a fixed order's amount, the deposit can't be processed as quoted.
- Trusting a lookalike token. Anyone can create a token called "USDT". Check the mint address matches Tether's.

FAQ
Can I swap SOL to USDT without an exchange account?
Yes. In Swappr you send SOL from your own wallet and receive USDT at your own Solana address. FixedFloat processes the swap and doesn't require registration, though an order can be paused for checks in some cases.
Do I need SOL to receive or move USDT on Solana?
You need SOL to move it. Every Solana transaction pays a fee in SOL, so keep a small SOL balance in the same wallet. The first time a wallet holds USDT, a token account is created, which needs a small SOL deposit.
Which address do I use to receive USDT on Solana?
Your normal Solana wallet address, the same one that receives SOL. Don't use a TRON address starting with T or an Ethereum-style 0x address.
How do I know the USDT I received is real?
Open the token in your wallet or on a Solana explorer and check that its mint address matches the one Tether lists for Solana: Es9vMFrzaCERmJfrF4H2FYD4KCoNkY11McCe8BenwNYB.
