How to Swap Ethereum (ETH) to Solana (SOL) on Android: Steps, Fees and Mistakes (2026)
How do you swap Ethereum (ETH) to Solana (SOL) on an Android phone?
In Swappr, set the coin you have to ETH on the Ethereum network and the coin you want to SOL. Enter an amount within the minimum and maximum shown, then paste your own Solana wallet address as the receiving address. Tap "Swap now" and send the exact ETH amount from your Ethereum wallet to the deposit address. FixedFloat processes the swap and sends SOL to your Solana address once your deposit is confirmed. You don't need an exchange account or a bridge. The two mistakes to avoid: pasting your Ethereum (0x…) address where the Solana address goes, and sending your whole ETH balance, which leaves nothing to pay gas.
Educational walkthrough, not financial advice. Rates, limits and network fees change, and the numbers shown in the app when you confirm are the ones that apply.
Swappr in one line, and why this pair is different
Swappr is a free Android app by GSPTeck (our app) for multi-coin swaps processed by FixedFloat. ETH to SOL is a cross-chain swap: the coin you send lives on Ethereum and the coin you receive lives on Solana. That has three consequences.
- Two different address formats. Ethereum addresses start with 0x and have 40 hexadecimal characters. Solana addresses are base58 strings, usually 32 to 44 characters, with no 0x.
- Two different fee coins. You pay gas in ETH to send your deposit. Later, moving your SOL costs a small fee in SOL, which the payout itself gives you.
- Two different wallets, or one multi-chain wallet. You need a wallet that can receive on Solana. Some wallets handle both networks under separate addresses.
Honest limits: Swappr is Android-only, contains ads, and is a swap tool, not a wallet. Pairs depend on what FixedFloat supports at the time. Get the app from the Google Play link on the Swappr homepage.
Before you start: what you need
| Item | Why | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| ETH on Ethereum mainnet | The coin you are swapping | Your wallet shows ETH on "Ethereum", not on a layer 2 such as Arbitrum or Base |
| Extra ETH for gas | Sending the deposit is an Ethereum transaction paid in ETH | Keep a margin above the swap amount; your wallet shows the fee before you confirm |
| A Solana receiving address | Where SOL is sent | Base58, 32 to 44 characters, from your wallet's Receive screen on Solana |
| Swappr from Google Play | The app that creates the order | Developer shown as GSPTeck on the listing |
| A few minutes | A fixed-rate quote is frozen for 10 minutes | Have both wallets open before you tap "Swap now" |
If your ETH sits on a layer 2 network, choose that network's ETH option in the app if it's offered, or move it to Ethereum mainnet first. Picking ETH on Ethereum and then sending from Arbitrum or Base is one of the commonest reasons a deposit doesn't show up. Our guide to the invalid address error covers the address side of this.
The swap, step by step
- Pick the pair. Set the coin you have to ETH and check its network label says Ethereum. Set the coin you want to SOL.
- Enter the amount and choose the rate. Type the ETH amount, stay inside the minimum and maximum, and read the estimated SOL. Choose Fixed Rate to lock the quoted amount, or Float Rate to let it follow the market until the swap runs.
- Paste your Solana address. Copy it from your wallet's Solana Receive screen. Check it doesn't start with 0x, then compare the first and last four characters with what you pasted. Clipboard malware can swap a copied address for a lookalike.
- Add a refund address if asked. This one is an Ethereum address, because a refund goes back as ETH. Our page on refund versus receiving addresses explains the difference.
- Tap "Swap now" and send. The deposit screen shows the exact ETH amount and a deposit address with a QR code. Send that exact amount from your own Ethereum wallet, then tap "Sent".
- Wait for the payout. FixedFloat runs the exchange once your deposit has enough confirmations on Ethereum, then sends SOL to your address. Keep the order ID and your Ethereum transaction hash.
Fixed or float for ETH to SOL?
FixedFloat publishes the rules for both rate types in its FAQ:
| Fixed rate | Float rate | |
|---|---|---|
| FixedFloat fee | 1% plus network fee | 0.5% plus network fee |
| When the rate is set | When you create the order | After your deposit is confirmed |
| Time to send | Rate frozen for 10 minutes; send within that window | No frozen window |
| Deposit amount | Must match the order exactly | Follows what arrives |
| Good for | Knowing the SOL amount in advance | A lower fee if you accept market movement |
On a fixed-rate order, FixedFloat says that if the market moves more than 1.2% before your transaction appears on the network, or the amount doesn't match, you'll be offered a refund or the market rate. Both ETH and SOL can move quickly, and an Ethereum deposit can sit in the mempool if you set a low gas fee. If you want fixed, send with your wallet's normal fee setting, not the slowest one. Our fixed versus float rate guide covers the trade-off in more detail.
What it costs
- FixedFloat's fee: 1% on fixed or 0.5% on float, already reflected in the estimate.
- Your Ethereum gas: paid in ETH when you send the deposit. It depends on how busy Ethereum is, and your wallet shows it before you confirm. A plain ETH transfer uses 21,000 gas.
- The Solana payout fee: charged on the SOL side and included in the quote.
If the SOL you receive is lower than you expected, compare it with the estimate you saw before you tapped "Swap now". On a float-rate order, a lower amount usually means the market moved before your deposit confirmed. Our guide to receiving less than the swap quote lists the other reasons.
Five mistakes that cost an ETH to SOL swap
- The wrong address format. A 0x address in the Solana field is rejected at best. Use a base58 Solana address.
- Sending from the wrong network. ETH sent on Arbitrum, Base or another layer 2 doesn't arrive at an Ethereum mainnet deposit address.
- Swapping every last ETH. With nothing left, the deposit transaction can't pay its own gas.
- Sending late on a fixed rate. After 10 minutes the frozen rate lapses and you're offered a refund or the market rate.
- The wrong amount. If it's below the minimum, or doesn't match a fixed order's amount, the deposit can't be processed as quoted.
FAQ
Can I swap ETH to SOL without an exchange account or a bridge?
Yes. In Swappr you send ETH from your own Ethereum wallet and receive native SOL at your own Solana address. FixedFloat processes the swap and doesn't require registration, though an order can be paused for checks in some cases.
Can I use my Ethereum address to receive SOL?
No. SOL is received at a Solana address, which is a base58 string with no 0x at the start. Some multi-chain wallets show both, under separate networks.
Why do I need to keep some ETH back?
Sending your deposit is an Ethereum transaction, and its gas fee is paid in ETH from the same wallet. If you try to send your entire balance, the wallet can't cover the fee.
How long does an ETH to SOL swap take?
It depends on how fast your Ethereum deposit confirms and on FixedFloat's processing. Our guide to swap times by network explains what affects each step.
